Fundraising Breakfast a Success

April 25, 2013 – Breakfast with Aspen a morning of inspiration and insight

Today saw a bright and early start for members of Calgary’s prestigious business community as well as Aspen staff. Over 100 people got together at The Calgary Petroleum Club to start a conversation on poverty. Over 90% of the 6000 people Aspen helps every year are experiencing poverty. Poverty is a unique experience for each individual. With the experience and wisdom gleaned from close to 30 years of service Aspen’s perspective on this critical issue is vital in coming to an understanding and solution to this systemic issue. Keynote Speaker Ruth Ramsden-Wood, Former CEO of Calgary’s United Way, brought a wealth of experience to the conversation. Bill MacLachlan of Mawer Investment Management Ltd.  generously hosted this event helping Aspen put a very important topic on the table, creating awareness of the issue and the important work being done.

The event raised some much needed funds and momentum. Look forward to even more dynamic events in the future.
