Youth

We know that growth happens on nurtured ground. That’s why we work to transform the lives of at-risk youth by providing safe places and services in Calgary and surrounding rural communities. We meet kids when and where they need us most. When you choose this impact opportunity you are supporting:

  • Emergency shelter and longer term housing for youth experiencing homelessness

  • A safe home-like environment for youth with Children’s Services involvement who can’t stay at home

  • High school completion

  • Employment readiness through work experience and job application support

  • Opportunities for immigrant youth to connect to their community and overcome barriers

Families

A resilient family is the best way to ensure kids grow into strong and healthy youth and adults. We offer family services and support to create resilience and establish this critical foundation. When you choose to support this impact opportunity you are supporting:

  • Families experiencing or at risk of becoming homeless

  • Parents who need a little help with things like parent-teen conflict or child behaviour

  • Community hubs where parents and families can access free services and support

  • Foster families to create a safe space for children who can’t stay in their family home right now

Winter Breather

Winter can be long, cold and isolating, and this year the season brings unprecedented stress for individuals and families living month to month. But with your help, families can get a much needed breather this winter! 

Each year, Trellis serves 9,000 people from every quadrant of Calgary. For those struggling with poverty or homelessness, the winter months can be especially distressing. Utility bills go up and isolation often increases. People juggle groceries, rent, telephone and internet bills, with affording the smallest gift for their kids, caring for an ailing parent or time spent with family a mere bus ride away.

Your gift to our Winter Breather Fund provides individuals and families on the edge of extreme poverty and struggling to make ends meet with a little relief, a breather so they can continue their path towards stability.

365 Program Support

Our 365 Program Support Fund ensures children, youth and families have access to year-round programs that help to heal beyond experiences of trauma, exploitation and homelessness; connect isolated individuals to communities of support; keep families stably housed; provide access to education and employment supports; and ultimately support people to thrive.
